California Supreme Court says same-sex couples have right to marry
Yay! At SF Pride this year, we’ll all have a real reason to celebrate!!!
From: SFGate
Gays and lesbians have a constitutional right to marry in California, the state Supreme Court said today in a historic ruling that could be repudiated by the voters in November.
In a 4-3 decision, the justices said the state’s ban on same-sex marriage violates the “fundamental constitutional right to form a family relationship.” The ruling is likely to flood county courthouses with applications from couples newly eligible to marry when the decision takes effect in 30 days.
“The California Constitution properly must be interpreted to guarantee this basic civil right to all Californians, whether gay or heterosexual, and to same-sex couples as well as to opposite-sex couples,” Chief Justice Ronald George wrote in the majority opinion.
Allowing gay and lesbian couples to marry “will not deprive opposite-sex couples of any rights and will not alter the legal framework of the institution of marriage,” George said.

How do you think the people of California will react. There is a method of amending the state constitution. It was done when an Indian gaming agreement was overruled by the courts.
Charming snap. But why, pray, are you wearing *clothes*, young lady!
Yrs in pervery, Adrian
Pretty amazing, isn’t it? Gives me chills — and hope, that maybe, just maybe, we’ll get there, nation-wide. One day ….
Michael — I don’t know how people will react — I wish I did! Either the momentum will continue, and things will turn out well in November, or there will be a huge back-lash and it will get overturned.
But even if it does, it’s still a step in the right direction, so it would still be “two steps forward, one step back.”
Adrian — I do actually wear clothes quite frequently! My Master likes me to wear schoolgirl outfits, riding outfits, spandex catsuits, and other things.
Also, I was working all day in the sun and the cold San Francisco wind that day. I would have been miserable if I’d been naked! Also, when you work as a safety monitor, you have to wear the T-shirt, so that people can identify you in an emergency!
Beth — yes, it made both my Master and me get all teary and emotional! The only way to move forward is baby steps … but I think there is evidence to be hopeful!
Zille, this is very good news, we already have this in the UK, I know several same sex couples.
According to my sources it may well well be overturned, I hope not, and even if it is, it is still a step in the right direction.
I agree with Adrian, thank for the lovely snap, you are beautiful, clothed or unclothed.
Warm hugs,
Paul.
Man, that picture of you two is super cute!
