Fiona Locke: Enquiring minds want to know

There are questions going around the spanko community (both online and off) about the identity of “Fiona Locke,” author of Over the Knee
and On the Bare.

I’ve read Over the Knee, and just adored it. And in the afterword, we read: “Apparently I’m the first Nexus author to pose for the cover of her own book.” And there she is, bright red bottom upturned over the knee — truth in advertising, for once!

But we don’t get to see Ms. Locke’s face….

I think it’s quite obvious from the writing that this author does actually have experience with the wide word of CP (unlike some authors of spanking erotica, but we won’t get into that here!) Also, even aside from the cover picture, we can tell the author is young: “Angie” is web-savvy (indeed, in the course of the story she takes part in a spanking website), goes out clubbing, and there’s a scene involving one of the characters stripping to ZZ Top in a North Carolinian strip-joint.

Of course, this doesn’t actually mean the author is a “she,” at all. In fact, it’s been bandied about that Fiona/Angie is actually Abel from The Spanking Writers (Although Abel denies it, he doesn’t say it’s not his wife Haron….)

So, what do we know…?

  • We have the names “Fiona Locke” and “Angie“, each with their own website. (With the latter website referencing the former, so “Angie” is not afraid of being “outed” as Fiona — but Fiona doesn’t seem to want to link to Angie.)
  • In the back of the book, Lucy McLean from Northern Spanking is thanked. Does Lucy know Fiona/Angie? Has she seen her face?
On the English Vice website, Angie thanks “my friend Mija” — does Mija know who she is? If Lucy and Mija know her, has she been going to spanking parties all this time incognito?!
  • Also on the English Vice website, we can see a bit of Angie’s face
  • EmmaJane claims not to be Fiona/Angie.

If you have any information to share regarding this please post a comment, or if you’ve written about it on your own blog please post a link here. I want to gather as much evidence as possible in one place!

I think it’s time that this mystery is resolved! “Fiona Locke” — come out, come out, where ever you are!

BUT! Also on the English Vice site, there’s a set where “Angie” introduces her friend Pandora Blake.

Is it Caroline Grey, do we think?

  • Zille Defeu Zille says:

Oooh, Amy, I’d missed that — thanks!

And yes, I think Caroline is a good guess! She should certainly be considered in the running!

  • Zille said, “unlike some authors of spanking erotica, but we won’t get into that here.”

    Awwww. You’re no fun. :)

  • Eliane Eliane says:

Maybe this is just all a ruse and it’s actually Zille who is Fiona Locke and she’s trying to knock us off the scent. After all, she’s a pretty similar build to the person in the picture. And isn’t her Master English? So he could have helped with all the stuff about the UK, and then a lot of the shots on the English Vice site are actually in the USA, where she lives…. Ooo, I’m liking my new theory!
    So Zille, is it you?!

  • No, no. That was me introducing Pandora…

    Perhaps I’m Fiona Locke.

Not helping the confusion, am I?

    Peter

  • Emma Jane Emma Jane says:

Ooooh and of course Mr Markworthy. We must also know who he is. Maybe he’s actually the author and there is no Fiona?

@Amy, yes Caroline Grey has been very quiet on the internet lately, only popping up on my site to say she thought ‘Fiona might be JK Rowlng’

    The plot thickens!

  • carolinegrey carolinegrey says:

Oh come on you guys, I can’t even handle one internet persona. ;)

And my butt is a completely different shape.

I’m totally flattered, though. My money is still on JK Rowling. Unless it’s bloody Anne Rice. Again.

  • Pandora Pandora says:

Would it help if I claimed I only know Peter through online correspondence, and am no wiser than anyone else about the identity of him and Angie?

Or would that just confuse things further? :)

  • Zille Defeu Zille says:

Eliane — I wish I *was* Fiona Locke … my career as an author of erotica would be much farther along, if I was! And I think Fiona has longer legs than me, darn it! But I think you are right in the idea to ‘Question everything. Trust no one.’

Peter Markworthy — Yes, you’re just confusing things and you know it — one might even accuse you of doing it a-purpose! After all, you know who this Fiona/Angie person is, and you have not come forth with the information! We, the spanking public, have a right to know! So until you share some helpful information, we will regard your words with suspicion — as EmmaJane says, it might even be just you pretending to be Fiona!

Caroline — Anne Rice has gone crazily Christian, so I think she’s out of the running … anyway, she already has “Anne Rampling” as a cover name for her erotica! I hope it’s not JK Rowling, because then we’ll never know, as she has her career as children’s author to protect!

Pandora — I think you are going to have to provide more evidence than that! Say, come over to my house and I’ll test your identity personally…! [flirt]

  • Paul Paul says:

Zille, I have both books, I’m pretty sure you’re not Fiona Locke — your styles are very different.

Her bum is definitely not yours — I would know, from my collection!

    Love and warm hugs,
    Paul.

  • graham graham says:

It looks like Niki Flynn to me. So it’s gotta be that or JK Rowling ; )

  • @Zille: Well, that’s my hand you can see on the cover of Over the Knee and I’m definitely not spanking myself.

  • Zille Defeu Zille says:

    Paul –

Yes, my dear friend, I’ve heard you have a sizeable collection of pictures of my bottom! Thanks for defending my uniqueness! :)

Graham — Niki? Hmmm, I don’t know. She has already published “Dances with Werewolves” (awesome book — have you read it?) under the name Niki Flynn, which does lessen the likelihood of her feeling she needs a second pen name, don’t you think?

Hmmm, @Peter … well, of course we only have your word to go on about who is whom on the cover! Since we don’t know what *either* you or Niki look like! So we still await some definitive information, Mr. Markworthy!

  • Bonnie Bonnie says:

    Zille,

What a lovely controversy you’ve stirred up. Could our author be the long lost niece of one Stephanie Locke? She certainly knows a thing or two about spanking.

Or perhaps the names are just a coincidence?

  • Dave Dave says:

Could Fiona Locke be a nome de plume for Rosaleen Young?? She may be retired from the scene, but she is a top-notch writer!

  • Lucy McLean Lucy McLean says:

It’s very weird. Of course I *know* who she is. I already said it was me. Thanking oneself in the acknowledgements is merely a rouse to put people off the scent. Clearly…

  • Ludwig Ludwig says:

One of my readers emailed me recently, asking if I know who Fiona Locke is, and suggesting – as a joke, no doubt – that maybe it is me. That mail didn’t by any chance come from you, Zille, writing anonymously? Hmm?

No, on second thoughts, I don’t believe it was you. You wouldn’t suggest such an absurd theory! Needless to say, I am not Fiona Locke. My English is pretty good, but you can tell that it is a second language. Whoever Fiona is, she is definitely a native speaker.

I have my own theories about who Fiona is / isn’t, as do my readers. If you are one of the more enthusiastic cyber-detectives out there who really want to unlocke this mystery (pardon the pun!), you should take a look at this discussion as well:

Who in the World is Fiona Locke?

  • Paul G Paul G says:

Sure looks like Niki Flynn to me and of course she has the writing credentials and visits US and would know Lucy via Northern Spanking. If I were a betting man……perhaps we should open a book.

  • Lucy McLean Lucy McLean says:

But as Zille says, why would Niki need another pen name when she is already a published author?

“Fiona Locke” was at my wedding. But then, so was I… maybe Fiona was the bride. Or perhaps the bridegroom..

  • MysteryMinx MysteryMinx says:

I think that Fiona Locke is Niki Flynn for the following reasons:

    - Niki’s book (Dances With Werewolves) and Fiona’s books (Over The Knee and On The Bare) are all published by Nexus.

    - In Niki’s most recent blog, HH commented about a road trip they took together: “Niki and I drove north from Texas, though New Mexico and Colorado and Utah and Montana, until we reached the Canadian border. Then we turned left and drove some more until we got to the Pacific Ocean. Along the way we called in at every National Park and other wilderness spot we could find. In most of them she was spanked.”

    - All of the locations from the English Vice website are consistent with Niki’s road trip with HH.

    - Big Belt Mountains is enroute between the glacier and Yellowstone.

    - Antonito, CO is en route between Garden of the Gods and White Sands, NM.

    - Niki and Fiona have wonderful, identical yellow hair in all the picks…

    - Niki has an identifiable mark on her backside at the top of the crease and just below her tailbone. Fiona Locke has an identical mark on her backside.

Anyway… I think Niki Flynn is Fiona Locke… then again, it could always be HH…

    Cheers,
    MM

  • Marie (Kate James) Marie (Kate James) says:

Personally, at first thought, I think it’s Nikki, but the speculation about Heron is convincing as well.

I haven’t studied the photos of the bum enough to know about the mark this MM speaks of…but I shall now.

  • Marshall Marshall says:

My suspicion is that it is Miss Woods. The bottoms (and legs) are quite similar.
