This is the only image I’ve seen from Justine Lai’s “Join or Die” series that specifically shows spanking per se, but a number of these sexy and thought-provoking images seem to indicate power play and/or rough sex. I’m normally go more for the erotic photos than the paintings (for obvious reasons, considering that I’m a photographer!), but colour me impressed by this series! (Yes, yes, pun intended!)

Having put some thought into it, if I was going to get down with any president, it would be Lincoln, who is a hero of mine (and who seems to have been made pretty miserable by his wife, and I’ve often felt I’d like to go back in time and marry him instead, so he could have more happiness in his all too short life!), or maybe Andrew Jackson, who seems like he was probably pretty randy and full of energy!

In the past few weeks, I’ve had a huge increase in random internet traffic looking for “tiger sex” (or, alternately, “sex tiger”) and I have no idea why!

I do have some idea why they are landing here — that would be the “Zille punished with tiger sex…” entry I did a while ago. But why the sudden interest in sex with a large, striped feline?!

Well, if it’s the new fashion, I’d just like the above post to prove that I was sooooo there first!

Actually, this brings to mind an interview Miss Maggie Mayhem and I did with Miss Calico at IMsL. We discussed a number of filthy topics (and this was just “gals sitting down to have a chat,” mind you, there was no planned direction!) and the topic of animal penis dildos (and dragon dildos) came up — you know, like it does in most conversations! Well, no, that’s not true. I’m a greedy little girl and want lots of things! But I would really love to find The Vintage Erotica Collection under the tree! (But I don’t particularly want my family to buy it for me for obvious reasons.) My friend Maggie Mayhem reviewed it over on her blog, saying:

I enjoy a good moving picture though, even if it isn’t a talkie. I really liked Vintage Erotica Anno 1920. Released by Cult Epics, it is an incredible collection of mostly French erotic films. They do feature hardcore sex and some pretty sexy fetish scenes as well. If you’re looking to build up a collection of the origins of porn as we know it, it’s a really good place to start. You can buy by the decade as well and watch the trends and evolution of filmed sex.

What I really enjoyed about this film is the whimsy behind much of the porn and the willingness to cross genres. Most contemporary porn is put into individual categories and can be very single minded. This is fantastic if you’re just looking for anal sex, lesbian porn, bondage, pissing (and hey, we all get a one track mind sometimes) but what about those times when you want your porn to dip its toes into several genres at once? In many of the flicks in this DVD you’ll find a blending of sex acts.

The movies featured in this DVD are what kick started porn in America. “The Valley” in Los Angeles, CA did not always have the distinction of being the porn capital of the world. Everything sex used to come out of Paris, France. Aside from beating back the nazis, American soldiers brought back “French postcards” as well as memories of the reels shown in the brothels. The result was a chain reaction leading to the establishment of the site you’re looking at right now.

I do recommend this DVD and the ones that follow it in succession if you can get your hands on a copy. I certainly enjoyed it and it’s the kind of thing I force my friends to sit through as well so naturally I’m telling you all about it.”

My beloved sister texted me yesterday, saying “OMG Bettie Page just died. U should blog about her.” No, I responded, because Bettie disavowed being kinky, so even though she a fetish icon, it wasn’t real.

But I’ve been thinking about it ever since. I decided to check my facts and make sure it was the case (I remember watching an interview with her, where she said she was never into “that stuff,” but my memory can be flawed). When I went by BettiePage.com, I liked the press release so much, that I decided to repost it here. Bettie did indeed say, “But honestly, who could take any of this seriously? I never understood how anyone believed those poses were sexy. To be tied up? I don’t get it.” (From an interview with Susie Bright: “She had all the evidence in front of her about what the fetish photographs were for, but she chose not to examine it”), but the fact of the matter is that, no matter what she was personally into, she inspired truely kinky girls to model, and did, indeed, just generally make the world a better place. And that is something worth recognizing.
